August 18, 2009- Remote Switches Recalled by Woodstock International Due to Fire Hazard
The recalled product is a remote dust collector switch, which remotely turns on and off a woodworking dust collector. The product is a black electrical outlet box that comes with two hand-held remote controls. The electrical outlet box has a label that reads “Remote Dust Collector Switch”. Both the electrical box and remote controls have “Shop Fox” molded into the plastic on the top side of the product. Model numbers D3038 & D3346 were printed on the carton but not on the remote control unit. The recalled switches measure 4 and 13/16” long by 3 and 7/16” wide. This recall involves the RadioShack Illuminated Round Rocker Switch, catalog number 275-0021 and a date code of 01P09, or January 2009, and earlier. The switches are used as replacement on/off switches for electronics or for use in hobby projects. The wiring diagram, the catalog number, and manufacturing dates are located on the back of the product’s packaging. In the date code MMPYY, MM is the month and YY is the year. March 12, 2008- Ensto Control Oy Recalls Toggle and Rotary Switches Due to Electric Shock Hazards
The recalled toggle and rotary switches are manual motor controller switches or disconnect switches. The switches are typically used with HVAC units, electric distribution and control panels and industrial uses. Primarily the switches are used commercially, however they may also be found in residential applications. The switches were sold under the brand name Ensto Control Oy with a four digit manufacturing week date code stamped on the bottom of each switch. The code indicates the week and year of manufacture. Product codes ranging from 0107 through 5007 are included in the recall. The model numbers are located on labels attached on the upper part of the plastic switch housing. These "Snap Action" thermal switches were sold under the model number 2450A, 2455RA, or 2455RM. They have model numbers and date codes stamped on the sensing surface or end cap.
