November 12, 2009- Backpack Blowers Recalled by Homelite Due to Fire Hazard
This recall involves the Homelite Mighty Lite backpack blowers. The blowers are red and black. The following models are affected by this recall: December 11, 2008- The Toro Company Reannounces Recall of Electric Blowers Due to Projectile Hazards
The recall involves Toro Power Sweep electric blower model 51586 that was manufactured between 2000 and 2002. The recalled units have serial numbers that range between 000055100 and 220255609. There are two decals on the main housing of the blower. One decal reads, “TORO Power Sweep” and the decal on the opposite side of the blower contains the model number and serial number (shown by the letter “A” in the picture below). The recalled units can be identified by a black impeller fan, which can be seen through the air inlet screen on the bottom of the unit. May 15, 2008- Shindaiwa Corp. Recalls Backpack Blowers Due to Laceration and Impact Hazards
This recall involves Shindaiwa Models EB8510 and EB8510RT. All models up to serial # 7014728 are included. The backpack blowers weigh approximately 24 pounds and include Serial Numbers through February 2007 production (S/N 702XXXX) which are located on the side label. These machines are black and blue with a red and black label that reads, “EB8510, Shindaiwa.” August 24, 2007- Shindaiwa Inc. Announces Recall of Backpack Blowers Due to Fire Hazard
This recall involves Shindaiwa Models EB8510 and EB8510RT. All models up to serial #7025018 are included. After serial number 7025018, the leaf blower has been upgraded with stainless steel muffler shells. The backpack blowers weight approximately 24 pounds and include Serial Numbers through February 2007 production (S/N 702XXXX) which are located on the side label. April 25, 2006- RedMax Backpack Blowers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
The RedMax gasoline-powered backpack blowers are red and black with a white fuel tank. Model numbers EB6200, EB7000, EB7001, and EB7001RH can be found on the body of the blowers along with "RedMax," "Zenoah," and "Komatsu." April 25, 2006- Shindaiwa Inc. January 25, 2006- Leaf Blowers Sold at Home Depot Recalled for Laceration Hazard
The recalled blower is used outside to blow, vacuum or mulch leaves. "Homelite" is printed on the top of the blower. The blower is red with a black nozzle, and weighs about 10 lbs. Model number UT08542 or UT08542A is printed on the operator's manual. Only blowers missing the black cover over the fan are included in the recall. "Homelite" and "Vac Attack II" are written on the fan cover. A bag connects to the blower to collect the leaves or mulch. October 18, 2005- Stihl Inc. Recall of Backpack Blowers
These backpack blowers have serial numbers ranging from 264264925 through 264740832 which are located on top of the engine's cylinder on the fin. The spark plug boot can be removed to view the serial number from the exterior of the blower. |
