January 4, 2017 Curio Design Recalls Modular Lights and Bases Due to Shock and Fire Hazards (Recall Alert)

This recall involves three Splyt Light modules including the Table Starter Kits, Hanging Starter Kits, Expansion Kits and Tri-bases. The kits let you design your own light fixture by adding or subtracting Y-pieces and candelabra bulbs. The lights can be screwed directly into a light socket in the ceiling or used with the table base. December 1, 2016 LED Lamps Recalled by Technical Consumer Products Due to Electrical Shock Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Habitat for Humanity in California

This recall involves 10 watt LED A19 Shape lamps sold under the TCP brand name. These lamps are white and produce a soft white (2700 Kelvin) color temperature. Recalled units have item number "LED10A19DODLCHP" and the date code printed directly on the white plastic heat-sink of the lamp, just above the screw in the base. Consumers will need to shut off power to the lights and disengage the lamp to check the item number and date code. November 30, 2016 BioLite Recalls Lanterns Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively Online at Kickstarter.Com (Recall Alert)

This recall involves the BioLite BaseLantern and BaseLantern XL. These are small rechargeable LED lanterns that function as both a light and a powerbank. BaseLanterns are about 5 inches (height) by 5 inches (width) by 2 inches (depth), and are silver in color, and weigh about 2 pounds. The affected serial numbers are PLC000001-PLC004000, and PLCXL000001-PLCXL006000. The serial number is located on the bottom of the device and on the bottom of the product packaging. Read more.


November 10, 2016 L.D. Kichler Recalls Ceiling Fixtures Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves four style numbers of Kichler Krystal Ice flush mount ceiling fixtures with square or cylindrical chrome or bronze-colored metal cage shades and clear crystal accents. They were sold with four 40-watt light bulbs. Style numbers include 38182, 38183, 38198, and 38199. The style numbers and "Kichler Home Center" are printed on the inside of the canopy. Read more.


November 8, 2016 Lithonia Lighting Recalls Commercial Luminaires Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves Lithonia Lighting BLT series luminaires intended for use in indoor, commercial applications, such as office buildings, schools and stores. The low-profile, recessed LED luminaire is a metal light fixture in a white finish with a rounded or square plastic lens. The fixtures measure about 1, 2 or 4 feet long and 1, 1.5 or 2 feet wide. Only non-sensor luminaires with a manufacture date from October 2015 through August 2016 are included in this recall. Lithonia Lighting, the model and date of manufacture can be found on a label attached to the fixture's housing and on the product packaging. September 8, 2016 HAUS Mosquito Zapper LED Light Bulbs Recalled by Creative Sourcing Due to Shock Hazard

This recall involves the HAUS ZapBulb 2-in-1 mosquito zapper LED light bulbs. The 10-watt bulb has a white grid housing that measures about 3.1 inches high, 3.1 inches wide and 6.1 inches deep. The grid housing has a blue light used to attract insects and an LED light below, for lighting. Only units without any markings or labels are included in this recall. August 25, 2016 Cree Recalls LED T8 Lamps Due to Burn Hazard; Includes T8 Lamps Provided as Replacements in Previous Recall

This recall involves Cree LED T8 Replacement Lamps, including lamps that were provided as free replacements for a previous recall in June 2015 and new lamps sold since the recall. These lamps are used indoors to replace traditional two-pin T8 fluorescent tubes. The white lamps have a cylindrical shape and measure 48 inches long. "Cree," "BT848 Series Lamp," the product number and a four-digit date code are printed on the lamp or on a white label affixed to the lamp. August 15, 2013 Philips Lighting Recalls Endura and Ambient LED Bulbs Due to Shock Hazard

This recall involves Endura 12-watt and Ambient 12.5-watt LED dimmable light bulbs. The bulbs are orange in color and have "MADE IN CHINA," "Fabrique in Chine" followed by a slanted "S," and the model number 9290001829 printed on the gray plastic band on the neck of the bulbs. The date codes, 2L for the Endura bulbs and 2K or 2L for the Ambient bulbs, are printed on the metal screw base. The bulbs give off a white light and are used indoors to replace incandescent bulbs.
