Recalls: Greenhouse and Gardening Tools

This recall involves the Calipso "Combi" and Tiller & Rowe "Growing Table-Mini Greenhouse and Raised Garden Bed" products. The assembled height is 32" x 15" x 39". The assembled product has an opaque cover with vents. It also has a storage shelf below the garden bed. The garden bed portion and legs are gray. The interior liner is lime green and has a removeable grid to space out seedlings. Read more.

This recall involves Fiskars 16-foot extendable pole saw/pruners with model numbers 9463, 9440 and 9441. These pole saw/pruners are lawn and garden tools that extend from 7 feet to 16 feet and are used to cut high tree branches with either their pruner (for smaller branches) or their 15-inch hooked wood saw blade (for larger branches). The blade is secured to an oval-shaped fiberglass and aluminum telescoping pole set that locks into place through a double-locking system consisting of two orange c-clamps and a black and orange lock and pin mechanism in each of the upper and lower pole assemblies. They have an orange and black pole. "Fiskars" is printed on the pole. The model number is printed on the UPC code on the pole. Read more.

This recall involves the Robbie Ducky children’s leaf rake, hoe, broom and spade. “Robbie Ducky™ Garden Collection” is printed on a tag attached to the handle. The rake has a yellow handle with the head of a tortoise and green prongs. The hoe has an orange handle with a caterpillar and a blue blade. The broom has a purple handle with a duck and an orange brush. The spade has a yellow handle with the head of a frog and a red blade. The tools measure between 27 and 29 inches long. Read more.

Manufacturer: Starite International Ltd., of Taiwan Hazard: The surface paint on the recalled gardening tools and chairs contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recall includes the Happy Giddy Gardening Tools and the Sunny Patch Children’s Chairs. Gardening tools: caterpillar trowel with an orange and multi-colored handle; kitty cat broom with pink flowers and green handle; pink and green cultivator with a solid green tool portion and pink flowers on the handle; orange and green wood handle hoe and rake with orange flowers; pink and green shovel and trowel with pink flowers; green, orange and light blue snail push broom; multi-colored trowel, hoe, rake with orange on the tool body; multi-colored shovel with solid red on the shovel and eyes on the top of the handle; red and blue owl shaped broom with bristles painted blue, with yellow and black large eyes on the face. Children’s Chairs: multi-colored children’s Sunny Patch chairs with a giraffe, monkey, and elephant on the back. The cloth seat and back are striped in orange, yellow, green and blue. The chameleon, butterfly and lady bug chair are not included in the recall. Sold at: Target stores nationwide from August 2006 through August 2007 for between $3 and $10.
