CPSC, The Toro Company Announce Recall of Snowthrowers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Toro Company, of Bloomington, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 3,400 Toro Snow Commander snowthrowers. The plastic fuel tank can crack and leak gasoline, posing a risk for fire and injury.

CPSC, Hitachi Koki U.S.A., Ltd. Announce Recall to Repair Circular Saws
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hitachi Koki U.S.A., Ltd., of Norcross, Ga., is voluntarily recalling about 14,300 circular saws. The lower blade guards on these saws can stick in the open position, exposing the blade and posing a serious laceration hazard.

CPSC, OWT Industries Inc. and Sears Announce Recall of Electric Routers Used in Woodworking
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), OWT Industries, Inc., of Pickens, S.C. and Sears Roebuck and Co. (Sears), of Hoffman Estates, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 5,200 electric routers used in woodworking. The on-off switch on the routers could stick in the "on" position, posing a risk of serious lacerations to the operator and bystanders.

CPSC, Maytag Corp. Announce Recall to Repair Gas Ranges
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Maytag Corp., of Newton, Iowa, is voluntarily recalling to repair about 23,000 Gemini gas ranges. The range can experience a delayed ignition flashback fire in the upper oven, which poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

CPSC, Raymond Oak Inc. Announce Recall of Toy Chests
Raymond Oak Inc., of Fountain Valley, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 200 toy chests. The toy chests are wooden and were manufactured with a natural birch or oak finish. The chests measure 36-inches in length, 20-inches in width and 21-inches in height. A sticker on the toy chests reads "MADE IN CHINA" and "SC51CT-MP." Furniture stores nationwide sold the recalled toy chests from May 2000 through January 2002 for about $99.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is voluntarily recalling about 40,000 Woody dolls sold at the WALT DISNEY WORLDŽ Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, DISNEY'S VERO BEACH Resort, Magic of Disney and Flight Fantastic shops located at the Orlando International Airport and Disney's Worldport shop located at Pointe Orlando. The Woody doll's clothing has buttons that can detach, posing a choking hazard for young children.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Comarco Inc., of Irvine, Calif., is voluntarily recalling to replace about 125,000 detachable plugs on power adapters. The plug can break open and expose live wires, posing an electrocution or electric shock hazard to consumers.

The rubber petal and metal snap can break off of the jacket, posing a choking hazard to young children.

CPSC, MOSA Sports Announce Recall of Bicycle Helmets
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), MOSA Sports, of Hermosa Beach, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 1,250 "Five 40" brand bicycle helmets. These helmets fail impact testing required under CPSC's Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets, violating the Consumer Product Safety Act. Riders wearing these helmets are not adequately protected from falls, and could suffer head injuries.

CPSC, Lands' End, Inc., Announce Recall of Little Kids' Parkas
Lands' End Inc. of Dodgeville, Wis., is voluntarily recalling approximately 6,000 children's parkas. The recalled parkas are style numbers 79725 and 79721. Style numbers can be found on the top line of a small label that is immediately behind the larger garment care label. (On the reversible down parka, shown below at left, this label will be found inside the pocket. On the fur-trimmed down parka, shown below at right, the label can be found on the neckline.) The parkas were sold through the Lands' End catalog, web site and certain Sears, Roebuck and Co. retail stores from November 2002 through mid-January 2003 for $79.50 or below.

CPSC, Trudeau Corp. Announce Recall of Fondue Sets
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Trudeau Corp., of Woodridge, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 45,200 fondue pots sold as a part of a 17 piece set at Bed, Bath and Beyond stores. The plastic handles that are attached to the fondue pots can melt and crack during heating on a range top, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers.

CPSC, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. Announce Recall of Small Engines
Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., of Irvine, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 45 engines that have been incorporated into Ventrac compact articulated tractors manufactured by Venture Products Inc. The recalled engines are 27 horsepower, liquid-cooled, overhead-valve (OHV), V-twin models with electric start and horizontal output shafts. The engine model and serial numbers are on a label at the top of the engines and next to the radiator cap.

CPSC, Fire-Lite Alarms Announce Recall of Power Supply for Alarm Systems
Fire-Lite Alarms, Inc. of Northford, Conn., is voluntarily recalling about 2600 power supplies used with building alarm systems. They are used with notification appliance circuits that provide an audible, visual, or audio-visual combination notification to building occupants in the event of a fire. The recalled power supplies were sold nationwide from September 2001 through November 2002 under the Fire-Lite and Notifier brand names for $480 to $530. Only power supplies with a date code of 4602 or lower are included in this recall.

CPSC, Blue Star Candles, L.P. Announce Recall of Christmas Candles
Blue Star Candles, L.P., of Lubbock, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 18,000 Christmas candles. The 6-ounce, red Christmas candles are packaged in an 18-count box labeled "Christmas Candles." Each candle sits in a 6-ounce tin container. A label on the bottom of the candle reads in part, "Merry Christmas" with either a Santa Claus or Christmas tree printed on the candle. The candles have a cinnamon spice fragrance named Christmas Joy. Only the 6-ounce candle size is included in the recall.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Makita U.S.A. Inc., of La Mirada, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 350,000 electric orbit sanders. The pads on the sanders can break apart during use and strike the operator, posing an injury hazard to consumers.
