CPSC, In-Sink-Erator Announce Recall to Repair Instant Hot Water Dispensers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), In-Sink-Erator, of Racine, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 252,000 half-gallon instant hot water dispensers. Water can leak from the metal holding tank, wet insulating material and cause electrical arcing and heat build-up. This poses a fire hazard.

CPSC, Hammacher Schlemmer & Co. Announce Recall of Lighters
Hammacher, Schlemmer & Co., Inc. of Chicago, Ill., is voluntarily recalling approximately 3000 Butler Slim Torches. The recalled lighters have a brushed chrome finish and a black rubber slide lever that is moved to ignite the lighter. They are seven inches long and "Rowenta" is embossed on the rubber slide lever. The lighters come packaged in a black plastic case with "Rowenta" stamped on the bottom of the case. The Hammacher Schlemmer® catalog sold the lighters nationwide between August 2001 and February 2002 for $39.95. The lighters were manufactured in Germany.

CPSC, Mountain Safety Research Announce Recall of Stove Fuel
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Mountain Safety Research, of Seattle, Wash., is voluntarily recalling about 9,700 cans of white gasoline stove fuel. Corrosion can cause the can to leak fuel, posing a fire or injury hazard.

CPSC, Candle-lite Announce Recall of Martha Stewart Everyday® Brand Potpourri Simmering Pots Sold at Kmart
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Candle-lite, of Cincinnati, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 80,000 ceramic potpourri simmering pots sold under the Martha Stewart Everyday® Brand. Flames from the tea light candles inside these potpourri pots can flare out of the side ventilation holes, possibly causing burns to consumers.

CPSC, BY US International Co. Announce Recall of "NEXT" Ultra Shock Bicycles Sold at Wal-Mart
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), BY US International Co. Ltd., of Taiwan, is voluntarily recalling about 132,000 Next Ultra Shock mountain bicycles with "Ballistic 105" front suspension forks. Dynacraft Industries Inc., of San Rafael, Calif., was the sole distributor of these bicycles. BY US International Co. Ltd. manufactured the forks on these bicycles that can break apart, causing riders to lose control, fall and suffer serious injury.

CPSC, Brinkmann Announce Recall of Outdoor Tabletop Propane Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Brinkmann Corporation, of Dallas, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 45,000 outdoor tabletop propane heaters. The heaters can emit high levels of carbon monoxide (CO), which poses a risk of CO poisoning to consumers.

CPSC, Brookdale International Systems Inc. Announce Recall of Emergency Escape Smoke Hoods
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Brookdale International Systems, Inc., of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is voluntarily recalling about 27,400 emergency escape smoke hoods that may have been purchased for use against tear gas or chemical warfare agents. The smoke hood is a one- time emergency use, personal safety device that provides quick, temporary protection from smoke in the event of a fire. In some instances, consumers purchased the smoke hoods for protection from tear gas or chemical warfare agents, but the smoke hoods should be used only to provide protection from smoke caused by fires.

CPSC, Specialty Sales Co. Inc. Announce Recall of Novelty Cigarette Lighters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Specialty Sales Co. Inc., of Castro Valley, Calif., is recalling about 6,000 novelty cigarette lighters. These lighters do not have child-resistant mechanisms, as required by federal law. Young children could ignite the lighters, posing fire and burn hazards.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Radio Flyer Inc. of Chicago, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 15,000 Little Wooden Push Cars for repair. A child can pull the horn off the car's steering wheel, and a small part inside poses a choking hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Little Tikes Company, of Hudson, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 21,400 Pop 'n Scoot Ride-on toys. Young children who lean forward can fall forward over the handlebars, causing facial injuries.

CPSC, Megatech Announce Recall of Rechargeable Battery Packs for Radio Controlled Airplanes
Megatech of North Bergen, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 3,000 rechargeable, NiMh battery packs used with certain Megatech radio-controlled airplanes. These battery packs were included with Skyliner model radio-controlled airplanes. They are 7 cell, 8.4V battery packs and are covered in a light green plastic. They measure 1 1/4-inches wide, 3 7/8-inches long, and 1/2-inches thick. Airplanes with the recalled batteries were sold by Hammacher Schlemmer nationwide from December 2000 to March 2001 for a suggested retail price between $224 and $300. The batteries were also sold separately for approximately $36. The batteries were made in China and the battery packs were assembled in Taiwan.
