CPSC, STK International Announce Recall of Extension Cords
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), STK International Inc., Los Angeles, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 190,000 extension cords. The cords have undersized wires, presenting a shock hazard to consumers.

CPSC, Remington Products Co., LLC Re-Announce Recall of Hairdryers
Firm Offering Free Upgraded Replacement Hairdryer

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Remington Products Co., LLC, of Bridgeport, Conn., is again announcing the recall of about 3,000 hairdryers. These hairdryers are not equipped with an appliance leakage current interrupter (ALCI) plug to cut off electrical current in case of contact with water. If dropped in water, the hairdryers pose an electrocution hazard to consumers. This recall was originally announced by CPSC and Remington on March 21, 2001.

CPSC, Radio Flyer Inc. Announce Recall to Replace Steering Wheel on Toy Car
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Radio Flyer Inc., of Chicago, Ill., is voluntarily recalling to replace the steering wheel on about 59,000 Model 8 Roadsters manufactured before January 2002. A child can pull the horn from the steering wheel, and a small part inside poses a choking hazard to young children.

CPSC, Small World Toys Announce Recall of Sorter Toys
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Small World Toys of Culver City, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 880 sorter toys. The plastic windows on the "see-inside" sorting blocks can break, causing the beads inside to be released. This presents a choking hazard to children.

CPSC, Lauri® Inc. Announce Recall of Toddler Activity Sets and Puzzles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), ® Inc. of Phillips-Avon, Maine, is voluntarily recalling about 110,000 "Toddler Tote™" toddler activity sets and about 11,000 "Familiar Things" toddler puzzles. The dog puzzle included with both of these products and the rubber handle on the box of the activity set can tear apart into small pieces and pose a choking hazard to small children.

A mounting-bracket weld on the rear hub can come loose, resulting in rear brake failure and possible injury to operators.

CPSC, Young's J.K. Inc. Announce Recall of Novelty Lighters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Young's J.K. Inc., of Portland, Ore., is recalling about 1,800 novelty cigarette lighters. These lighters do not have child-resistant mechanisms, as required by federal law. Young children could ignite the lighters, posing fire and burn hazards.

CPSC, Wal-Mart Announce Recall of Red Devil Gas Grills Sold at Wal-Mart
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Wal-Mart Stores, of Bentonville, Ark., is recalling about 60,000 Red Devil gas grills sold at Wal-Mart. About 155,000 of these grills were manufactured by e4L Inc., of Encino, Calif., and Quantum North America Inc., of Encino, Calif. Because the manufacturer is out of business, CPSC issued a warning about these grills in May 2002.

CPSC, Johnson Outdoors Inc. Announce Recall of SCUBAPRO/UWATEC™ Dive Computer Consoles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Johnson Outdoors Inc., of Racine, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 1,700 SCUBAPRO/UWATEC™ dive computer consoles. The U-Line™ submersible pressure gauge that is part of the dive consoles can malfunction and display inaccurate pressure readings. Divers using the consoles could fail to decompress properly during a dive, causing decompression sickness.

Snapper, Inc., of McDonough, Ga. is voluntarily recalling about 2,200 walk-behind lawn mowers. Snapper lawn mowers with model numbers 216751BV, P2167517BV and FRP 216751BV are part of this recall. The model number can be found on a white label attached to the top of the lawn mower. Authorized Snapper dealers sold these mowers nationwide from March 2002 through April 2, 2002 for about $400.

CPSC, Holophane Announce Recall of Luminaire Optical Assemblies
Holophane, of Newark, OH, a division of Acuity Lighting Group, Inc. has voluntarily recalled about 1,500 optical assemblies used in its Enduralume® and Low Profile Enduralume® Luminaires. The recalled products are optical assemblies used in these High Intensity Discharge luminaires for industrial and commercial installations. The optical assembly used in Enduralume and Low Profile Enduralume fixtures consists of a glass refractor and an aluminum reflector. Holophane sold these luminaires through electrical distributors nationwide from January 2002 through February 2002. They were made in the USA.
