CPSC, Micro-Mark Announce Recall of Butane Micro Torch Lighters
Micro-Mark of Berkeley Heights, N. J., is voluntarily recalling about 260 Rekrow Butane Micro Torch Lighters. The recalled lighters are black with a chrome finished flame guard and a red gas control lever on the top. They are about six inches high and 1 3/8" in diameter and "TAIWAN" is imprinted on the chrome metal bottom. A half-inch metal screw facing back serves as an ignition button. The lighters were sold nationwide from December 2000 to May 2001.

CPSC, Whirlpool Announce Recall of Dehumidifiers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Whirlpool Corp., of Benton Harbor, Mich., is voluntarily recalling about 1.4 million dehumidifiers. The dehumidifiers can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

CPSC, Vector Manufacturing Ltd. Announce Recall of Power Inverters with GFCI Outlets
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Vector Manufacturing Ltd., of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is voluntarily recalling about 1,600 power inverters with ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI) outlets. Power inverters convert DC voltage to AC voltage to allow the operation of household products using battery power. The GFCIs on the inverters, which are intended to protect consumers against shock and electrocution, could fail to operate correctly.

CPSC, Custom Buoyancy Inc. Announce Recall of Scuba Diving Devices
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Custom Buoyancy Inc. (CBI), of Torrance, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 7,700 overpressure valves (OPV) used with buoyancy control systems. The overpressure valve can stick in the open position, posing a drowning hazard to divers.

CPSC, Lands' End, Inc. Announce Recall of Electric Blankets
Lands' End, Inc. of Dodgeville, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 15,000 Polartec Heat® electric blankets. The recalled blankets are style numbers 73176, 73197 and 73198. They were sold in twin, double, queen and king sizes in various colors including deep forest, mineral green, cornflower, brick red, and dark camel. The blankets have a white label with writing "Polartec Heat Blanket" and operating and care instructions. Lands' End, Inc. catalog and web site sold these blankets nationwide from October 2001 through December 2001 for between about $160 to $220.

CPSC, Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc., Announce Recall to Repair Cordless Electric Lawn Mowers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc., of Towson, Md., is voluntarily recalling to repair about 1,300 reconditioned cordless electric lawn mowers. The clips holding the control cable to the handle may be missing, which could cause the blade control device to fail and keep the mower blade running when it should stop. If the blade control device fails, consumers could suffer serious injuries.

CPSC, Easy Gardener Inc. Announce Recall of Ross Root Feeders
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Easy Gardener Inc., of Waco, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 345,000 Ross Root Feeders to replace their mixing chamber caps. The root feeder is a device used to distribute food, water and insecticide to the roots of trees and shrubs. The mixing chamber caps on these feeders can detach during use and strike nearby consumers, resulting in injuries.

CPSC, MCM International Announce Recall of Electric Pressure Washers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), MCM International of Eden Prairie, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 50,000 Black Cat™ electric pressure washers. MCM International imported the pressure washers from a manufacturer in China who installed counterfeit ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) plugs on some of the units, without MCM's approval. All of the plugs are labeled "WELLONG"; however, the pressure washers with counterfeit "WELLONG" GFCI plugs appear virtually identical to those with genuine "WELLONG" GFCIs. It will require a professional inspection to identify the counterfeit GFCIs. GFCIs are important safety devices that are intended to protect consumers against shock or electrocution.

CPSC, Eddie Bauer Outlet Stores Announce Recall of Stainless Steel Lunch Bottles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Eddie Bauer Outlet Stores, of Redmond, Wash., is voluntarily recalling about 4,000 stainless steel lunch bottles. The insulated bottles have a weak seal and can leak hot liquids, which poses a serious burn hazard to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Intermatic Inc., of Spring Grove, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 156,000 electroluminescent nightlights. The nightlights can short-circuit, posing shock and burn hazards to consumers.

CPSC, Reed & Barton Announce Recall of Infant Teething Rings
Reed & Barton Corp., of Taunton, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 200 Powerscourt Sterling Teething Rings, model #WX201. The model number is located on a label on the outside of the gift box, along with "Waterford Fine Silver Gifts." The silver teething ring is about 2.5 inches in diameter, and made of two halves that are soldered together at a sterling silver decorative disc. The teething ring is sold as a keepsake, but also could be used as a teething ring. Waterford® Sterling is embossed on the bottom of the teething ring. Department stores, jewelry stores and gift shops sold these teething rings from March 13, 2001 through October 25, 2001 for about $100.

CPSC, Deere & Co. Announce Recall of Lawn Tractors
Deere & Company of Moline, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 8,000 LT lawn tractors. The tractors have a 38", 42" or 48" mower deck, a 13 to 16 horsepower engine, and are green with yellow trim. "John Deere" and the model number are printed on the hood of the tractor. Serial numbers are located on a plate in front of the seat. The recalled lawn tractors were manufactured from December 2000 through January 2001 and sold by authorized John Deere dealers for about $2,700.

CPSC, Kent International Inc. Announce Recall of "Midget Racer" Mini-Bicycles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kent International Inc. of Parsippany, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 28,000 "Midget Racer" mini-bicycles. The front fork assembly on these mini-bicycles can loosen or break, and cause the rider to lose control and crash.
