In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), L&N Sales and Marketing Inc., of Hatboro, Pa., is voluntarily recalling 59,400 ProSweep Rechargeable Cordless Sweepers. The sweeper can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

CPSC, Trojan Technologies Announce Recall of Residential Water Disinfection Systems
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Trojan Technologies Inc., of London, Ontario, Canada, is voluntarily recalling about 3,900 (sold in the U.S.) TrojanUVMax® Water Disinfection Systems. Some of the lamp pins used in these disinfection systems are improperly soldered, and can cause the units to overheat, posing a fire hazard.

CPSC, White-Rodgers Announce Recall of LP and Convertible Gas Water Heater Temperature Controls
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), White-Rodgers, a division of Emerson Electric Co., of St. Louis, Mo., is voluntarily recalling about 88,000 LP and Convertible Gas Water Heater Temperature Controls. The gas water heater controls can gradually open instead of snapping open to full flow, which can cause soot to build up on the water heater burner, presenting a fire hazard.

CPSC, CFM Corporation Announce Recall of Fireplace Remote Receivers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), CFM Corporation, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, is voluntarily recalling about 4,300 Majestic Vermont Castings fireplace remote receivers. The circuit board can overheat and catch fire, posing a burn and fire hazard.

CPSC, Virgo Enterprises Announce Recall of Hair Dryers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Virgo Enterprise, of Irvington, N.J., is voluntarily recalling Electric hand held hair dryers. These hair dryers do not have an immersion protection device or ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) on the power cord, which poses a serious electrocution hazard if dropped in water. In 1991, a voluntary standard was implemented that called for all hair dryers used by consumers to protect against electrocution in both the “on” and “off” position.

CPSC, Hamilton Beach Announce Recall of Espresso/Cappuccino Makers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex, Inc., of Glen Allen, Virginia, is voluntarily recalling 20,160 Hamilton Beach Cappuccino Plus Espresso and Cappuccino Makers. The steam tube inside the espresso/cappuccino maker can burst under pressure, presenting a risk of injury to consumers. This can occur if the frothing nozzle becomes clogged and the espresso button is pushed while attempting to froth milk.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., of Arcadia, Wisc., is voluntarily recalling 22,476 Ashley “Trails End,” “Cottage Retreat,” and “Stages” bunk beds. There are gaps between parts of the bunk bed that violate federal safety standards and can be entrapment or strangulation hazards to children.

CPSC, Shindaiwa Inc. Announce Recall of Hedge Trimmers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Shindaiwa Inc., of Tualatin, Ore., is voluntarily recalling Gasoline-Powered Professional Hedge Trimmers. The muffler’s retaining bolts can allow the muffler to come loose from the engine while the hedge trimmer is in operation. A loose muffler can contact and damage the fuel tank creating a fire hazard. More than 59,000 Shindaiwa hedge trimmers were recalled in October 2003 because of a leaking fuel cap.

Some of the steel bolts used to secure Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS) to the tractor’s real axle can shear off, decreasing the strength of the ROPS and its ability to protect the operator in the event of a roll over incident.
