CPSC, Sherwood SCUBA Announce Recall of Regulators
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sherwood SCUBA LLC, of Irvine, Calif., is recalling about 14,000 Maximus SCUBA regulators. The second stage orifices on these regulators can be cracked, bent or broken. This can result in a loss of breathing air underwater.

CPSC, Vermont Precision Woodworks Announce Recall of Cribs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Vermont Precision Woodworks, of Morrisville, Vt., is voluntarily recalling about 990 cribs. The slats on the cribs can loosen and detach from the drop side rail, creating a large opening between the slats where a child's head or neck could become entrapped, resulting in serious injury or death.

CPSC, InSTEP LLC Announce Recall of Trailer Bikes
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC), InSTEP LLC, of Mendota Heights, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 4,300 Hitchhiker III Trailer Bikes. The bike's universal joint system can fail, causing a rider to lose control of the bike. This poses a risk of injury to either of the two riders.

CPSC, Specialized Bicycle Components Inc. Announce Recall of Bicycles
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Specialized Bicycle Components Inc., of Morgan Hill, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 2,200 bicycles. The rear seatstays, the tube behind the seat that connects the rear axle to the rear shock, can break, possibly causing the rider to lose control and crash.

CPSC, Coast Energy Management Power Saving Devices Announce Recall of Power Saving Devices
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Coast Energy Management Inc., of Chandler, Ariz., is voluntarily recalling about 45,000 Energy Smart Power Planners. The Power Planner is a device connected between motorized appliances and wall outlets that is intended to save electricity. These Power Planners have reversed polarity, posing a shock hazard to consumers.

A component of the electronic control panel can malfunction, causing the motor and walking belt to rapidly accelerate and the user can lose balance and fall.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Brunswick Corp., of Lake Forest, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 103,000 Mongoose and Roadmaster mountain bicycles with Ballistic 105 front suspension forks. The forks on these bicycles can break apart, causing riders to lose control, fall and suffer serious injury.

CPSC, Estes Industries Announce Recall of Air Powered Rockets
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Estes Industries, of Penrose, Colo., is voluntarily recalling about 140,000 Air Powered Rockets. The rockets' foam tips can break off exposing sharp edges that can cause face lacerations or eye injuries to consumers. The rocket systems also have weak pump handles that can break during use, posing a risk of hand lacerations to consumers.

CPSC, Ames True Temper Announce Recall of Wheelbarrows
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Ames True Temper Inc., of Camp Hill, Pa., is voluntarily recalling about 647,000 wheelbarrows. The plastic wheel assemblies on these wheelbarrows, manufactured by a predecessor company, can break when being inflated with high-pressure air hoses. This can result in plastic pieces exploding from the rims of the wheels, possibly hitting nearby consumers and causing lacerations and other injuries.

CPSC, Country Home Products, Inc. Announce Recall for Repair of Cordless Electric Lawnmowers
Country Home Products, Inc. of Vergennes, Vt., is voluntarily recalling for repair about 19,700 cordless electric lawnmowers. The recalled lawnmowers were sold under the DRŽ WhisperliteŽ name. They have "DRŽ" printed on the top of the red or yellow plastic housing, and "WhisperliteŽ" on a label on the front of the plastic housing. The lawnmowers are 30" long without a bag, 38 1/2" high to the handlebar, and 18" wide with a 14" cutting width. They were sold nationwide from January 2000 to October 2001, for about $350.

CPSC, Fisher-Price Announces Recall for In-Home Repair of Infant Swings
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC), Fisher-Price, of East Aurora, N.Y., is recalling about 42,000 Smart Response Swings for in-home inspection and repair. It is possible to misassemble the seats of these swings so that they appear secure, but are not. If the seat of the swing is not properly attached, the seat and baby can flip forward.

CPSC, DeWALT Industrial Tool Co. Announce Recall to Repair Circular Saws
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC), DeWALT Industrial Tool Co., Baltimore, Md., is voluntarily recalling about 55,000 heavy-duty, lightweight circular saws. The spindle on the saw may slip, causing the blade to contact the lower guard, posing a hazard to the consumer from an exposed blade.

Approximately eighty percent of the water dispensers were sold in the United States. The hot & cold water dispenser's heater band can short circuit, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

The electrical connections inside of the heater can become loose, causing the heater's metal frame to become energized. This poses a serious electric shock hazard to consumers.

CPSC, Discovery Toys Announce Recall of Children's Toy
Discovery Toys of Livermore, Ca., is voluntarily recalling about 21,000 Up, Down & Around toddler maze toys, model #1612. The toy contains four-circuit flexible wires coated in blue, orange, red and yellow plastic tubes, sliding multi-colored shaped beads, and two abacuses that attach to a wooden base. The toy measures 9 1/2 inches by 8 inches by 7 inches. Four suction cups anchor the maze to most non-porous surfaces. Discovery Toys' Educational Consultants sold the recalled toy nationwide from July 2001 to January 2002.
