Tecumseh Power Co. Recall to Repair Lawn Tractors
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Tecumseh Power Co., of Grafton, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 21,000 Lawn Tractors. The axles on these lawn tractors can crack and break if subject to extreme load amounts. Should the axle break, it could cause a loss of control and result in injuries to the rider.

Electrolux Home Products Inc. Recall of Husqvarna Lawn Tractors
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Electrolux Home Products Inc., of Orangeburg, S.C. is voluntarily recalling 5,280 Husqvarna lawn tractors. These lawn tractors can develop abrasions on the fuel tank because of the fuel line clamp’s location. This can result in a fuel tank leak, which could pose a fire hazard to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Scag Power Equipment, of Mayville, Wis. is voluntarily recalling about 16,000 Scag Tiger Cub riding lawn tractors. Fuel can leak out of the carburetor, posing a risk of fire and burn injuries.

Deere & Company Recall of Compact Utility Tractors
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), John Deere, of Moline, Ill., is voluntarily recalling 300 John Deere Compact Utility Tractors. Some of the steel bolts used to secure Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS) to the tractor’s real axle can shear off, decreasing the strength of the ROPS and its ability to protect the operator in the event of a roll over incident.

Murray Inc. Recall of Lawn Mowers and Lawn Tractors
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Murray, Inc., of Lawrenceburg, Tenn. is voluntarily recalling Murray lawn mowers, lawn tractors and garden tractors. Plastic components on these lawn mowers and lawn tractors can crack if they are struck by an object thrown from the blade. Objects can be ejected from the mower unexpectedly and could hit nearby consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Deere & Company of Moline, Ill. is voluntarily recalling 1,700 John Deere 4000 Ten Series Compact Utility Tractors. An internal failure may occur within the HydrostaticTransmission preventing the transmission from returning to neutral after the pedals arereleased. This can allow unexpected movement or cause the tractor to continue moving,creating a possible risk of injury to the operator or a bystander.

Cub Cadet Recall of Compact Tractors
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Cub Cadet LLC (Cub Cadet), of Cleveland, Ohio is voluntarily recalling 2,000 Cub Cadet Series 7000 Compact Tractors. The tractor's high/low shift lever could pop out of gear into neutral during operation on steep slopes with attachments, such as a back-hoe or front-end loader installed. This could result in the machine "free-wheeling" until the brake is applied or the transmission is re-engaged, posing a risk of the operator losing control of the tractor.

Electrolux Home Products, Inc. of Cleveland, OH is voluntarily recalling about 22,000 garden tractors. Mass merchandisers and authorized dealerships, sold the recalled garden tractors from January 2001 to September 2001 for between $2,300 and $4,000. They were manufactured in the USA. The recall includes the following Sears Craftsman, Husqvarna and Poulan Pro garden tractors.

Deere & Co. Recall of Lawn Tractors
Deere & Company of Moline, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 8,000 LT lawn tractors. The tractors have a 38", 42" or 48" mower deck, a 13 to 16 horsepower engine, and are green with yellow trim. "John Deere" and the model number are printed on the hood of the tractor. Serial numbers are located on a plate in front of the seat. The recalled lawn tractors were manufactured from December 2000 through January 2001 and sold by authorized John Deere dealers for about $2,700.

The tractor's rear wheel can loosen and spin free on its axle, resulting in a loss of power to the wheel and brake, which poses the risk of injury to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), White Outdoor Products Co., (a subsidiary of MTD Products Inc.) of Cleveland, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 9,700 lawn and garden tractors. The hood latch on these tractors can damage the fuel tank and cause fuel to leak when the hood is raised and lowered, presenting a fire and explosion hazard.

The fuel line on these tractors can be misrouted near the ground drive belt or steering gears, which can result in it becoming damaged or cut, and allowing gasoline to spill. This poses a risk of fire and burn injuries to consumers.
