April 7, 2005- Sears Roebuck and Co. Recall of Table Saw Rip Fences
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sears Roebuck and Co., of Hoffman Estates, Ill. is voluntarily recalling about 41,800 Table Saw Rip Fence Assemblies. The rip fence - a metal guide that keeps material being sawed from shifting side to side as it passes through the cutting blade - can come loose. This could result in kickback of the material being sawed and possible injury to the operator.
December 6, 2004- Robert Bosch Tool Recall of SkilŪ Table Saws
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, of Mount Prospect, Ill. is voluntarily recalling 120,000 Skil® table saws (model 3400). The blade drive mechanism may loosen or the motor can separate from the tool. Loosening of the blade drive mechanism can result in kickback of the item being sawed, resulting in possible laceration. Motor unit separation can cause the coasting saw blade to damage the saw wiring resulting in possible electric shock, or the separated motor could strike the user and cause injury.
August 20, 2002- Black & Decker Recalls Table Saws
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc., of Towson, Md., is voluntarily recalling about 6,100 table saws. The motor housing on the saw may crack, posing a risk of electric shock to consumers.
March 27, 1996- Table Saw Switch Repair by Ryobi And Sears
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Ryobi America Corporationof Anderson, S.C., is announcing a recall to repairapproximately 150,000 10-inch table saws. On some saws, thepower switch lock-off mechanism may not work, and as aresult, children and others who should not have access tothe saw could be injured by the moving blade.
