March 24, 2005- MGA Entertainment Recall of Bratz™ Stylin’ Scooters™
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), MGA Entertainment Inc., of Van Nuys, Calif., is voluntarily recalling Bratz™ Stylin’ Scooters™ . The wheels of the scooter can break or become damaged, and users of the scooters can fall and suffer injuries.
February 17, 2005- GSI Commerce Solutions Recall of Electric Scooters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), GSI Commerce Solutions, doing business as Spartan Sports, of King of Prussia, Pa. is recalling about 4,300 electric scooters. A knob can loosen and cause the handlebar to detach from the scooter. Additionally, the folding joint lock on the model FS-101 scooter can break, causing the handlebars to release from the upright position. Both hazards can cause the rider to lose control and fall from the scooter.
September 2, 2004 - Target Recall of Electric Scooters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Target Corp., of Minneapolis, Minn.is voluntarily recalling approximately 74,811 Leoch Electric Scooters (also known as “Red Dragon” and “E-Scooter”). Improper wiring can cause a short circuit, posing a fire hazard in the scooter. In addition, inadequate insulation may expose electrical wiring, which poses a shock hazard.
August 27, 2004 - BMW Recall of SlideCarver Scooters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), BMW of North America, LLC, of Woodcliff Lake, N.J. is voluntarily recalling 161 SlideCarver Scooters. The front column of the scooter does not meet impact resistance standards. The handlebar column can break if the scooter hits an object, which can cause the rider to fall and suffer injuries.
December 20, 2000- Excite Super Speeder II and Viper Scooters Recall
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Excite Ltd., of Hong Kong, is voluntarily recalling about 80,000 scooters. The front of the folding mechanism, where the steering column meets the base of the scooter, can create a pinch-point. Fingers can be injured while folding or unfolding the scooter.
