November 15, 2004- RMM Corporation Recall of BLACK CATŪ Electric Pressure Washers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), MM Corporation, of Eden Prairie, Minn. is voluntarily recalling about 30,500 BLACK CATŪ Electric Pressure Washers. The electric motor in the pressure washer can overheat and melt the housing, possibly igniting nearby flammable materials or exposing live electrical parts.
July 15, 2004- Tristar Products Inc. Recall of Electric Pressure Washers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Tristar Products Inc., of Fairfield, N.J. is voluntarily recalling 1,000 Turbo Tiger Power Washers. These electric pressure washers do not have a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) on the power cord, which poses a serious electrocution hazard if the unit comes into contact with water.
December 10, 2003- Pressure Washers Recalled by S.K. Enterprises
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), SK Enterprises, Inc. of Newburgh, New York is voluntarily recalling 38,000 Strategy 1500 PSI Mobile Pressure Washers. Overheating of the pressure washers poses a potential for fire and personal injury.
November 27, 2002- Tecumseh Products Co. Recalls Power Equipment Engines
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Tecumseh Products Co., Tecumseh, Mich., is voluntarily recalling about 25,000 engines used in various outdoor power equipment. A misrouted fuel line in the engine can become damaged, allowing gasoline to leak out, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
January 23, 2002- MCM Recalls Electric Pressure Washers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), MCM International of Eden Prairie, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 50,000 Black Cat™ electric pressure washers. MCM International imported the pressure washers from a manufacturer in China who installed counterfeit ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) plugs on some of the units, without MCM's approval. All of the plugs are labeled "WELLONG"; however, the pressure washers with counterfeit "WELLONG" GFCI plugs appear virtually identical to those with genuine "WELLONG" GFCIs. It will require a professional inspection to identify the counterfeit GFCIs. GFCIs are important safety devices that are intended to protect consumers against shock or electrocution.
