August 15, 2002 - Gas Water Heater Recalled by Bradford White Corporation
Bradford White Corporation, of Ambler, Pa., is voluntarily recalling 1,220 75-Gallon Power Vented Gas Water Heaters. The recalled water heaters are models: MIITW75T6EN12; MIITW75T6CX12; TW375S76E3N; and TW375S763X with serial number "YD" (all) through YE 1395234. The model and serial numbers are located on the heater rating plate and on the shipping carton label. Bradford White Corporation sold these water heaters to plumbing supply wholesalers from April 2002 to May 2002. The water heaters were manufactured in the United States.
April 10, 2002- Gas-Fired Products Inc. Recalls Water Heaters
Gas-Fired Products Inc., of Charlotte, N.C., is voluntarily recalling about 1300 SeahorseŽ and 25 "Bradford & White" Outdoor Gas-Powered Water Heaters. The SeahorseŽ brand had model numbers WH60-N1, WH60-N3, WH60-N5, WH60-L1, WH60-L3, WH60-L5, WHT60-N1, WHT60-N3, WHT60-N5, WHT60-L1, WHT60-L3, WHT60-L5. The "Bradford & White" brand had models HE-15N and HE-15X.The water heaters were sold nationwide by retailers and also by public gas companies in North Carolina and South Carolina between August 1992 and November 2000 for about $900.
October 18, 2001- American Water Heater Co. Replace Burners in Gas Water Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the American WaterHeater Co., of Johnson City, Tenn., is voluntarily recalling about 16,000 gas-fired water heaters to replace the gas burners.The burners could produce excess carbon monoxide (CO), posing a risk of CO poisoning to consumers.
February 15, 2001- Water Heaters Recalled by Controlled Energy Corporation
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Controlled Energy Corporation (CEC), of Waitsfield, Vt., is recalling about 320 AquaStar natural gas water heaters. The heaters can produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in the exhaust gas, which can cause serious injuries and death.
September 25, 1996- LP Polaris Comfort Systems Recall/Repair by American Water Heater
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product SafetyCommission (CPSC), Mor-Flo Industries Inc., doing business as the AmericanWater Heater Group of Johnson City, Tenn., is announcing a voluntaryrecall program to repair approximately 6,500 LP Polaris ComfortSystems combination water heaters and home heating systems. Under certaincircumstances, fuel gas may ignite explosively, causing property damage orinjury.
February 15, 1996- Gas Water Heater Temperature Control Recalled by White-Rodgers
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), White-Rodgers, a divisionof Emerson Electric Co., St. Louis, Mo., is replacingcertain White-Rodgers Model 37 and 37C natural gas waterheater temperature controls manufactured between March 1994and October 1994. Soot can build up on the water heaterburner, presenting a fire hazard. Approximately 1.6 millionvalves were manufactured during this period.
November 5, 1991; Revised June 10, 2003- A.O. Smith LP And Natural Gas Water Heaters Recalled
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), A.O. Smith Water ProductsCompany of Irving, TX, is voluntarily recalling and replacingapproximately 29,000 flue baffles installed in water heatersmanufactured and distributed by its McBee, SC facility betweenApril 16, 1991 and July 9, 1991. The affected water heaters arelimited to A.O. Smith natural and liquefied petroleum gas 30 and40 gallon heaters. Only FSG and PGX models with serial numbersbeginning with MD91, ME91, MF91, or MG91 are subject to thisrecall. A.O. Smith electric water heaters have no flue baffleand therefore are not subject to this recall.
December 4, 1980- LP Gas Water Heaters Repaired by White-Rodgers
A nationwide recall programto repair more than 600,000 LP gas water heaters which may posean explosion hazard -- and the largest civil penalty settlement($420,000) in the agency's history -- were announced today by theU.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
