August 2, 2006- Robertshaw Controls Co. Recalls Gas Controls Installed in Commercial Cooking Appliances for Fire Hazard
November 10, 2005- Watts Water Technologies, Inc. Recall of Gas Ball Valves
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Watts Water Technologies Inc., of North Andover, Mass., is voluntarily recalling 4,500 Gas Ball Shut-Off Valves. A gas leak from these valves can occur, posing a risk of fires and explosions.
September 16, 2005 - Robertshaw Controls Co. Recall of Gas Control Valves on Water Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Robertshaw Controls Co., of Long Beach, Calif. is voluntarily recalling about 178,000 Robertshaw R110 Series Gas Control Valves. Screws on some water heater valves could break. If this happens, gas could leak from the valve, which poses a risk of gas explosion and fire.
May 5, 2005- Cimberio S.p.A. and Dormont Manufacturing Company Recall of Certain Cimberio Gas Valves
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dormont Manufacturing Company, of Export, Pa. and Cimberio S.p.A., of Via Torchio, Italy are voluntarily recalling about 20,000 (in inventory) Cimberio Gas Ball Valves. When one of these valves is closed, it could open up slightly. If the gas supply is on, gas will leak from the inlet port through the ball/seat and travel through the outlet port. If the valve is not connected to an appliance, and is not capped or plugged as required by the National Fuel Gas Code Section 6.7.2.1, leaking gas will escape into the air. However, subsequent testing confirms that this potential for a gas leak is eliminated as gas flows through the valve. As a result, there is no risk with installed valves.
December 22, 2004- Robertshaw Controls Company Recall of Certain Models of 7000 Series Gas Control Valves
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Robertshaw Controls Company of Long Beach, Calif. is voluntarily recalling about 425,000 gas control valves. They may pose a fire hazard. If the pilot light goes out, the gas valve could stick in an open position, permitting gas to continue to flow. This can result in a gas explosion and fire, which could result in severe personal injury or property damage.
November 1, 2004- Robertshaw Controls Company Recall of TS-11 Thermal Safety Control Gas Valves
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Robertshaw Controls Company of Long Beach, California is voluntarily recalling 123,544 gas valves and 37,350 magnet heads . If the pilot light goes out, the gas valve can stick in an open position, permitting gas to continue to flow. This can result in a gas explosion and fire which could result in severe personal injury or property damage.
January 27, 2004- SCG Miyairi Recall of Liquid Propane Overfill Protection Devices
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), SCG Miyairi (Thailand) Company, LTD, of Thailand, is voluntarily recalling about 21,000 SCG Liquid Propane Overfill Protection Devices (OPD valves). When the cylinder on the gas grill is filled to capacity and exposed to increased temperatures, liquid propane instead of gas vapor can leak out and cause the gas regulator valve to freeze. When the regulator valve thaws, if it has not been turned off, gas will flow to the grill. The resulting build-up of gas in the grill can pose a serious fire hazard to consumers.
July 2, 2003- Recall of GSW Water Heaters with S.I.T. Temperature Controls
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), GSW Industries Inc., of Fergus, Ontario, Canadais voluntarily recalling about 13,000 S.I.T. Gas Temperature Controls on GSW Water Heaters in the U.S.A. A potential burn hazard from ignition flashback or an increase in tank water temperature.
May 16, 2002- Gas Shut-Off Valves Recalled by Seismic Safety Products Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Seismic Safety Products Inc., a subsidiary of Pacific Aerospace & Electronics Inc., both of Wenatchee, Wash., is voluntarily recalling approximately 600 Earthquake gas shut-off valves. These gas valves could stick in the open position allowing gas to flow freely, which poses a risk of serious injury to consumers from fire and explosion during an earthquake.
March 26, 2002- Invensys Climate Controls Recall of TS11 Thermal Safety Control Valve
Invensys Climate Controls - OEM Products Group, of Long Beach Calif., a division of Invensys Control Systems, is recalling 18,200 TS11 Thermal Safety Control Valves, which are installed in commercial ovens, ranges, and warmer trays by OEM manufacturers and service organizations. The affected units were manufactured between June 2001 and August 2001 and have production dates beginning with codes 0124 through and including 0131. The date codes are marked on the backside of the upper housing, below the red button.
