January 26, 2006 - Fire Hazard with Oscillating Heater Sold in Wal-Mart Prompts Recall
December 1, 2005 - King of Fans Inc. Recall of Oil-Filled Radiator Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), King of Fans Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. is voluntarily recalling about 202,000 Maxi-Heat™ Electric Oil-Filled Radiator Heaters. Welds in the heating fins can break, allowing oil to leak. This poses a burn and fall hazard to consumers.
August 11, 2005 - The Holmes Group Recall of Tower Heater Fans
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Holmes Group, of Milford, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 180,000 Holmes® and Bionaire® Tower Heater Fans. The power cord on the units can fray or sever causing the fan to stop working and overheat. This could pose a fire hazard to consumers.
May 5, 2005- Holmes Group Recall of Portable Electric Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Holmes Group, Inc. of Milford, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 13,500 Portable electric heaters. Some heaters have improperly crimped wires which can result in overheating and a potential thermal burn or fire hazard.
January 26, 2005- Lakewood Recall of Oil-Filled Electric Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lakewood Engineering & Mfg. Co., of Chicago, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 70,000 Model 5101 oil-filled electric radiator heaters. Welds can rupture, expelling hot oil that can burn nearby consumers.
November 23, 2004- Lakewood Recall of Fan-Forced Mini-Personal Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lakewood Engineering & Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois is voluntarily recalling about 18,000 MPH-25 fan-forced mini-personal electric heaters. Fire hazard if an electrical failure leads to overheating and melting of plastic parts
November 9, 2004- Aloha Housewares Inc. Voluntary Recall of Radiant Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Aloha Housewares Inc., of Arlington, Texas. is voluntarily recalling about 30,000 Aloha radiant heaters. Recessed thermal protector may cause a fire hazard if heater is left on while covered by a blanket or similar item.
August 3, 2004- Vornado Air Circulation Systems Recall of Portable Electric Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Vornado Air Circulation Systems Inc., of Andover, Kan., is voluntarily recalling about one million portable electric whole room heaters. A faulty electrical connection can cause the heater to overheat and stop working, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
June 3, 2004- Electrolux Home Products Recall of Air Conditioning/Heating Units
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Electrolux Home Products Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 5,800 Room Air Conditioning and Heating Units. The heating coil in the units can be damaged during assembly, causing an electrical short and overheating, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.
April 20, 2004- American Standard Companies Recall of Trane and American Standard Accessory Electric Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), American Standard Companies, of Piscataway, N.J., is voluntarily recalling “Trane” and “American Standard” brand accessory electric heaters. Overheating of the wiring in the accessory heater can lead to wall thermostat fires.
March 25, 2004- Fedders Corporation Recall to Repair Window Air Conditioners with Electric Heat
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fedders Corporation, of Liberty Corner, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 13,500 window air conditioners with electric heat. If the outside fan blade becomes blocked when operating in the heating mode, this unit could present a fire hazard.
March 17, 2004- Lakewood Recall of Electric Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lakewood Engineering & Manufacturing Co., of Chicago, Ill., is voluntarily recalling 150,000 Sun-Sational Electric Heaters. Electrical connections inside of the heater can become loose. This could cause the metal portion of the heater to become energized, posing a serious shock hazard to consumers.
March 4, 2004- Lasko Products Inc. Recall of Space Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lasko Products Inc., of West Chester, Pa., is voluntarily recalling about 186,000 Space Heaters. The power cord connection can overheat and cause the cord to separate from the space heater. This poses a fire, burn and shock hazard.
June 5, 2003- Electric Heaters Recalled by Weather Works
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Weather Works Inc., of Miami, Fla., is voluntarily recalling about 2,400 Electric Heaters. The electric heater can overheat internal plastic components and damage the wiring, posing a fire and electrocution hazard to consumers.

The electrical connections inside of the heater can become loose, causing the heater's metal frame to become energized. This poses a serious electric shock hazard to consumers.

February 7, 2002- Honeywell Recalls Moveable Baseboard Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Honeywell Consumer Products Inc. (HCP), of Southborough, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 450,000 moveable baseboard heaters. The heating element in these baseboard heaters can short-circuit and ignite combustible material under the heater, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
May 9, 2001- Space Heaters Recalled by Vermont Castings, Majestic Products
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Vermont Castings, Majestic Products (VCMP), of Ontario, Canada, is recalling about 3,900 space heaters. Overheating inside the space heaters can cause the exterior to become extremely hot, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
