March 4, 2003- Computer Monitors Recalled by IBM
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), IBM, of Armonk, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling to repair 56,000 computer monitors. The monitor's circuit board can overheat and smoke, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
January 29, 2003- Xerox International Partners Retrofit of Network Laser Printers
Xerox International Partners, of Palo Alto, Calif., is voluntarily retrofitting about 17,000 network laser printers. These network laser printers were manufactured from January 1995 through September 1998 and sold nationwide through the commercial distributors listed below for prices ranging from $1599 to $6999. Model numbers are on the top of the unit and on a label located on the rear panel.
October 22, 2002- Laser Printers Recalled by Brother International
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC), Brother International Corp. (Brother) of Bridgewater, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about100,000 multi-function printers and laser printers. The printers can overheat, posing a fire hazardto consumers.
December 17, 2001- Next Level Communications Recall of Power Supply for Computer Modems
Next Level Communications of Rohnert Park, CA, is voluntarily recalling about 46,000 power supplies manufactured by PowDec Technologies, Inc. These power supplies are used with Next Level ADSL/VDSL ETHERset (modem) units, which provide high-speed internet access. They have a black plastic housing and are 2.5-inches wide, 2.75- inches high, and 1.5-inches deep. The name "PowDec" and the model "WP12303N" are located on a label on the back of the housing. The recalled power supplies were provided for use with Next Level ADSL/VDSL ETHERset part numbers: 750-00097 A,B&C and 750-00526 A&B. ADSL/VDSL ETHERsets with a recalled power supply were sold nationwide from February 1999 to May 2001 for a suggested retail price between $225 and $250.
November 13, 2001- Computer Distributors Recall of Batteries for Notebook Computers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bizcom Electronics Inc., of Milpitas, Calif., Sceptre Technologies Inc., of City of Industry, Calif., and Systemax Inc. of Port Washington, N.Y., are voluntarily recalling about 13,000 batteries sold with notebook-style personal computers and individually. These batteries can overcharge during re-charging, causing them to overheat, smoke and possibly catch fire.
May 10, 2001- Fax Machines Recalled by Canon U.S.A. Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Canon U.S.A. Inc., of Lake Success, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 60,000 Faxphones. The Faxphones are combination plain-paper copiers and facsimile machines. A component failure can cause the Faxphone to catch on fire.

In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Kingston TechnologyCorporation of Fountain Valley, Calif., is recalling about27,000 memory modules designed and sold by Kingston for useexclusively with IBM ThinkPad 760 L, LD, C & CD NotebookComputers. The modules may cause a short circuitand result in overheating, smoke, and possibly fire.
October 27, 1995- Panasonic Computer Printer Recalled by Matsushita Electric
In cooperation with the U.S. ConsumerProduct Safety Commission (CPSC), Matsushita ElectricCorporation of America of Secaucus, N.J., is announcing avoluntary program to inspect approximately 3,000 Panasonic brandlaser printers that may have been incorrectly assembled and, ifnot properly grounded, may pose an electrical shock hazard.
