Whittier Wood Products Recall of Pub Stools
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Whittier Wood Products, of Eugene, Ore., is voluntarily recalling about 2,200 Pub Stools. The amount of glue used to bond and hold the joints together on these stools could be insufficient. These stools could break and collapse during use, causing consumers to fall.

Fourstar Group Recall to Repair Kid’s Folding Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fourstar Group Inc., of Hopkinton, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 522,000 Kid's Folding Chairs. The chair’s safety lock can fail, allowing the chair to collapse or fold unexpectedly. Children’s fingers can become caught or entrapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a pinch or cut hazard. This can cause severe lacerations and finger tip amputations to children’s fingers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Idea Nuova Inc., of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 1.1 million Children's Folding Chairs. The chair’s safety lock can fail, allowing the chair to collapse or fold unexpectedly. Children’s fingers can become caught or entrapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a pinch or cut hazard. This can cause severe lacerations and finger tip amputations to children’s fingers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Meco Corp., of Greeneville, Tenn., is voluntarily recalling about 175,000 Juvenile Folding Chairs. Children’s fingers can become caught or entrapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a pinch or cut hazard.

L.L. Bean Inc. Recall of Director’s Chairs, Replacement Seats
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), L.L. Bean Inc., of Freeport, Maine, and Rio Brands, of Philadelphia, Pa. are voluntarily recalling about 3,500 Director’s Chairs and Replacement Director’s Chair Padded Seats. The wooden dowels in the fabric seats are too small and can break or slide out of the fabric sleeves; the fabric seat can tear from the wooden seat frame; and the chair frame also can break at the backrest upright, the armrest and at the leg axis. These failures can cause the chair’s occupant to fall to the floor, and possibly sustain injuries.

A mechanism in the footrest can create a pinch point that can cause injury if consumers open or recline the chair by reaching underneath the footrest.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Adams Manufacturing Corp., of Portersville, Pa., is voluntarily recalling about 2,740 plastic folding chairs. Some of the legs on these chairs were mis-assembled by the installer and a piece of the chair could be bent out of shape. This can allow the chair to collapse during use causing consumers to suffer injuries from falls.
