August 18, 2005- Whittier Wood Products Recall of Pub Stools
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Whittier Wood Products, of Eugene, Ore., is voluntarily recalling about 2,200 Pub Stools. The amount of glue used to bond and hold the joints together on these stools could be insufficient. These stools could break and collapse during use, causing consumers to fall.
July 27, 2005 - Fourstar Group Recall to Repair Kid’s Folding Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fourstar Group Inc., of Hopkinton, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 522,000 Kid's Folding Chairs. The chair’s safety lock can fail, allowing the chair to collapse or fold unexpectedly. Children’s fingers can become caught or entrapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a pinch or cut hazard. This can cause severe lacerations and finger tip amputations to children’s fingers.
July 27, 2005 - Idea Nuova Inc. Recall to Repair Children’s Folding Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Idea Nuova Inc., of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 1.1 million Children's Folding Chairs. The chair’s safety lock can fail, allowing the chair to collapse or fold unexpectedly. Children’s fingers can become caught or entrapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a pinch or cut hazard. This can cause severe lacerations and finger tip amputations to children’s fingers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Meco Corp., of Greeneville, Tenn., is voluntarily recalling about 175,000 Juvenile Folding Chairs. Children’s fingers can become caught or entrapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a pinch or cut hazard.
April 6, 2005 - L.L. Bean Inc. Recall of Director’s Chairs, Replacement Seats
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), L.L. Bean Inc., of Freeport, Maine, and Rio Brands, of Philadelphia, Pa. are voluntarily recalling about 3,500 Director’s Chairs and Replacement Director’s Chair Padded Seats. The wooden dowels in the fabric seats are too small and can break or slide out of the fabric sleeves; the fabric seat can tear from the wooden seat frame; and the chair frame also can break at the backrest upright, the armrest and at the leg axis. These failures can cause the chair’s occupant to fall to the floor, and possibly sustain injuries.
January 26, 2005- Commend Co. Ltd. Recall of Dining Set Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Commend Co. Ltd., of Fair Lawn, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 600 HD Design, 5-piece Dining Sets. The wooden chairs can break, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
January 13, 2005- Poundex Associates Corp. Recall of Dining Chair
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Poundex Associates Corp., of City of Industry, Calif. is voluntarily recalling about 32,000 residential dining chairs. The welds on the chair’s rear legs can crack and break apart, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
October 26, 2004- Rio Brands Recall of Folding Lawn Chairs Sold at Wal-Mart
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Rio Brands, of Philadelphia, Pa.is voluntarily recalling about 20,700 Mainstays Garden folding lawn chairs. The chair arms can break, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
October 15, 2004- IKEA Home Furnishings Recall of Fargglad Multi-Color Children’s Chair
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), IKEA Home Furnishings of Plymouth Meeting, Penn. is voluntarily recalling 7,279 Fargglad multi-color children’s chairs. There is a choking hazard from red plastic feet that can detach from chair legs.
September 21, 2004- Gruga U.S.A. Recall to Repair Office Chairs Sold At Staples Stores
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Gruga U.S.A., dba Novimex Fashion Ltd., of City of Industry, Calif. is voluntarily recalling about 18,000 Executive Office Chairs.The legs on the base of the chair can break, posing a risk of injury to the user.
August 18, 2004- American Signature Recall of Dinette Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), American signature Inc., of Columbus, Ohio is voluntarily recalling about 380 “Windsor” dinette chairs. The stretch bar which connects to the chair’s legs can detach during normal use, causing the user to fall and suffer injuries.
June 15, 2004- The Land of Nod® Recall of Children’s Wooden Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Land of Nod, of Wheeling, Ill. is voluntarily recalling 3,500children’s wooden chairs. The leg supports can crack, causing the chair to collapse. Children sitting in these chairs can fall.
December 15, 2003- Hill-Rom Recall of Rocking Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hill-Rom, a Hillenbrand Industry, of Batesville, Ind., is voluntarily recalling 2,900 rocking chairs. The chairs’ support assembly can fail and cause the rocking chair to collapse, posing the risk of injury to the user.
May 22, 2003- High-Leg Recliner Chairs Recalled by Lane Furniture Industries Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lane Furniture Industries Inc., of Tupelo, Miss., is voluntarily recalling about 620,000 high-leg recliner chairs. A mechanism in the footrest can create a pinch point that can cause injury if consumers open or recline the chair by reaching underneath the footrest.

August 7, 2002- Folding Chair Recalled by Adams Manufacturing Corp.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Adams Manufacturing Corp., of Portersville, Pa., is voluntarily recalling about 2,740 plastic folding chairs. Some of the legs on these chairs were mis-assembled by the installer and a piece of the chair could be bent out of shape. This can allow the chair to collapse during use causing consumers to suffer injuries from falls.
July 18, 2002- Vacation Station™ Children's Cooler/Chairs Recalled by Hilton Hotels Corporation
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hilton Hotels Corporation, of Beverly Hills, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 27,000 Vacation Station™ children's cooler/chairs. When the chair collapses the folding mechanism can pose a crushing, cutting or severing hazard to consumers' fingers.
April 2, 2002- Intercon Merchandising Source Recalls Mini Beach Chairs
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC), Intercon Merchandising Source Inc., of City of Industry, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 100,000 Time Out folding mini beach chairs which can be used by both children and adults. The chairs can collapse, posing crush and amputation hazards to consumer's fingers and toes.
