International Comfort Products LLC Recall to Repair “Packaged Gas Electric” Heating and Cooling Units, or "Gas-Packs"
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), International Comfort Products LLC, of Lewisburg, Tenn. is voluntarily recalling about 28,700 Packaged Gas Furnace and AC Units. The unit's control board can ignite and, in certain units, can result in the ignition of flammable material adjacent to the unit.

American Standard Companies Recall of Gas-Electric Heating/Cooling Units
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Trane and American Standard, divisions of American Standard Inc., of Tyler, Texas are recalling 18,200 Trane and American Standard Gas-Electric heating/cooling units. A gas leak can occur if there is a crack in the gas valve body near the inlet pipe connection. A build-up of gas in the burner compartment of the unit could occur, which could be ignited by an internal spark.

Goodman Company, L.P. Recall of Amana, Trane, and American Standard Brand Package Terminal Air Conditioners/Heat Pumps
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Goodman Company, L.P., of Houston, Texas is voluntarily recalling about 875,000 Package Terminal Air Conditioner/Heat Pumps. A fire hazard may result from this chain of events: filter becomes clogged due to lack of maintenance, severely restricting airflow and resulting in elevated internal temperature; this may cause two safety switches to stop working during the product’s expected life; if the blower wheel then stops when the product is operated in the heating mode, a fire hazard can develop.

Friedrich Air Conditioning Co. Recall to Repair Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC),Friedrich Air Conditioning Co., of San Antonio, Texas. is voluntarily recalling about 26,400 PTAC units and about 1,600 replacement Packaged Terminal Air Conditioning (PTAC) units. The rotary dial switch on these units can be positioned between the high and low speed fan setting. This can cause the units to overheat and possibly catch fire.

Electrolux Home Products Recall of Air Conditioning/Heating Units
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Electrolux Home Products Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 5,800 Room Air Conditioning and Heating Units. The heating coil in the units can be damaged during assembly, causing an electrical short and overheating, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.

Fedders Corporation Recall to Repair Window Air Conditioners with Electric Heat
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fedders Corporation, of Liberty Corner, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 13,500 window air conditioners with electric heat. If the outside fan blade becomes blocked when operating in the heating mode, this unit could present a fire hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Carrier Guam, of Tamuning, Guam, is voluntarily recalling about 2,100 window air conditioners. Salty sea spray can cause the electrical capacitor within these units to corrode, posing a possible fire hazard.

Voyager Heating and Air Conditioning Systems Recall by Trane Company
Combination Gas Furnace and Electric Air Conditioning Units - The Trane Company, of Tyler, Texas, a division of American Standard Companies Inc., is voluntarily recalling 967 Voyager Series Combination Gas Furnace and Electric Air Conditioning Units, which are installed in schools and commercial applications. The Voyager series of light commercial rooftop air conditioners with electric cooling and gas-fired heat exchangers have 120,000 to 135,00 BTU heating capacity and three to five ton cooling capacity in horizontal and downflow configurations. The Voyager series has been manufactured by Trane since 1988 and is distributed under the Trane® and American Standard® brand names. The recalled units were manufactured between June 1, 2000 and August 16, 2000 and have serial numbers beginning with R21 though and including R33.
